Ive said it before and ill say it again – only YOU are holding yourself back in this game. Lack of matchmaking is irrelevant to me, but i also hope it doesnt come as putting together a good list of people to play with has been one of the best things about destiny. The only modes that I care about are in the game as it currently is are the story, strike, daily heroic, weekly strike, 28 PoE, 32 PoE, and 34 PoE. The only reason that I mentioned Raids, Nightfalls, and 35 PoE was to clarify that they currently don’t have matchmaking on them.

Today, Bungie took to Twitch and other sources around the interwebs to showcase the new endgame activity for Destiny, the Prison of Elders. The new mode allows for a few ways to play in terms of difficulty. During the livestream, a display of the new location, The Reef, gave us a look at four ways to get down and dirty with the activity all staged for different levels of challenge. It was expressed that the base version is a level 28 random activity in the Prison of Elders that allows matchmaking and can be played as many times as desired for constant reward.
From what I understand, the activity consists of about 5 to 6 rounds each spanning 3 waves to complete. Before entering a room however, each round you are given a match modifier that affects the way you take on the room.

Finishing a round of Crucible PvP or a cooperative Strike in Destiny currently awards faction reputation and marks used to buy faction gear.
Providing this extra incentive would encourage players to stick it out through a grueling Prison of Elders match or a Crucible game in which they were on the losing team instead of simply quitting and leaving their teammates in the lurch. It would be even better if Bungie could figure out a way to scale the end-of-match rewards to the difficulty of the match itself making it through a level 32 Prison of Elders match, for instance, would come with a much higher chance at rarer rewards than completing a level 18 Strike.
